Dolley’s Dream, Tonbridge

An independent guide to the cafe on the High Street: where it is, when it has posted it is open, and how to reach the people who actually run it. This is not their website.

A High Street cafe, not a sweet shop listing

Dolley’s Dream is a cafe at 83–85 High Street, Tonbridge, Kent, TN9 1RX. The Food Standards Agency lists the premises as Dolly’s Dream at 85 High Street. The cafe’s own Facebook and Instagram use Dolley’s Dream / Dolley’s Dream Cafe. This guide uses the name they post under, and notes the FSA spelling so a search does not look like two different shops.

Tonbridge Bean wrote on 11 August 2026 that Dolley’s Dreams had opened that week, in the unit that had been The Maid of Kent and, before that, Gorgeous George. Humphrey Bean, the Wetherspoon on that stretch, had just been refurbished. The old Poundland next door was expected to be split into smaller shops. That is local reporting, not a claim from this website.

Some directories still describe the pin as a confectionery shop with weekday hours that do not match the cafe’s Facebook. Treat those pages as mixed-up. The cafe posts breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, coffee and cake. Bookings and today’s specials go through their Instagram or Facebook, not through a form here.

Hours as posted on the cafe’s Facebook

Copied from the public Facebook page for Dolley’s Dream Cafe. Monday and Tuesday are not listed there, so this guide treats those days as closed until the cafe says otherwise. Always check their socials before you travel.

  • MondayNot listed — treat as closed
  • TuesdayNot listed — treat as closed
  • Wednesday08:00 – 16:00
  • Thursday08:00 – 16:00
  • Friday08:00 – 16:00
  • Saturday09:00 – 16:00
  • Sunday08:00 – 16:00

They close at 16:00 on the days they list. A 16:10 arrival is the same as a Monday: do not assume a later sitting. Saturday opens an hour later than Sunday.

What they have posted about food

This is not a full menu. It is what the cafe has said in public posts, so you know the shape of the place. Prices and dishes change. Their socials win.

Breakfast

They have advertised a “Full Engl-ISH” (their spelling) and porridge with toppings such as fruit, chocolate and banana, cinnamon stewed apple, or jam. Wraps and a kids’ lunch list were added in a September 2026 menu update on Facebook.

Lunch bits they priced

An October post listed a sausage roll with salad and coleslaw at £6.95, a vegan sausage roll, and cream of mushroom soup with a roll at £4.95. Cheese and Marmite swirls were introduced as a savoury. Those figures can go out of date the next week.

Afternoon tea

Autumn afternoon tea has been offered, with pre-booking required through their social messages. This site cannot take that booking. Hot chocolate with flavour shots (gingerbread, toffee nut, cinnamon roll, mint, hazelnut, vanilla, caramel) was posted as an autumn drink.

Takeaway and diets

A 26 September 2026 Facebook update said gluten-free and vegan options were fully available, and that food can be boxed to take away. Confirm on the day if you have an allergy. Private events (baby showers and similar) are offered by messaging them, not us.

Food hygiene

Tonbridge and Malling inspected the premises on 17 September 2026. The Food Standards Agency page for business 1966926 records hygienic handling as very good, cleanliness of facilities as good, and food-safety management as very good. Third-party mirrors summarise that as a 5 (very good) rating. The foodscores.co.uk scrape still said “awaiting inspection” when this guide was written; the FSA page is the one to trust. Read it yourself: ratings.food.gov.uk/business/1966926.

Find the cafe

Dolley’s Dream

A mobile number published on third-party listings is 07595 347731. Because some of those listings also mis-describe the business, confirm on Instagram or Facebook before you rely on it.

The High Street crosses the Medway on the Big Bridge. Number 85 is on that street, not on the castle lawn and not inside Humphrey Bean next door. If a map shows a sweet shop with 9:00–17:30 hours, you have the wrong description of the same pin — check the cafe’s own posts.
